Salasel Castle

The strategic castle was the guardian of the ancient city of Shushtar and t he harbor of the various kingdoms and heads of state at various times. There were many commanders in this castle. The city of Shushtar and Castle Salasel, according to old stories, held the attack of Arabian army for one year in sasanian era. The castlewas part of the defenses of Shushtar city and was used as the residence the governor of Khuzestan Province during later periods.
