General Information

Ramsar is a city in and the capital of Ramsar County, Mazandaran Province in Iran. At the 2012 census, its population was 33,018, in 9,421 families.

Ramsar lies on the coast of the Caspian Sea. It was also known as Sakhtsar in the past. The native people in Ramsar are Gilaks although there are also Mazandarani people living there. They speak the Gilaki language (eastern dialect) although the style they speak has been influenced by the Mazandarani language, making it slightly different than the Gilaki (eastern dialect) spoken in Gilan.

You can go to Ramsar by flight from Tehran, Noshahr and Rasht.

Connected to motorways. You can use taxi, however the easiest way to travel is via a hired car and its not expencive.

You would just have to say that you want to go to north, buses are ready in entire Iran.
