Like many countries, tipping is common and popular in Iran. Tipping a taxi driver on short routes is not common, but in other cases, it is better to tip. The tour guide, the hotel carrier, and restaurant Garson will be very happy with your tipping.

Consider more tips for the tour guide or driver guide because they are with you on the whole journey and can be very helpful. 5 to 10 dollars each day can be OK.

Tipping is not common at all in Iran. You do not need to tip while traveling in Iran. If you tip, people will love you but it is not mandatory at all. During 30 years of living in Iran, I tipped less than 10 times. They were done only the service is extraordinary or you want to be seemed super-generous. You're not required to pay anything more than the bill, especially if the bill has a fee for service included. Waiters do not live on the tips, and the tips mostly go to the restaurant owner and not waiters (unless you put it in their hands).
